Guidelines for the Sale of Electronic Tickets

1. The procedures for the sale and refund of electronic travel documents (e-tickets), formalization of stops en route with an electronic travel document (e-ticket), as well as e-registration without the issuance of a strict reporting form (hereinafter referred to as “e-registration") are provided for passengers.

2. E-registration is carried out after the fare is paid.

3. An electronic travel document (e-ticket) is not issued for free/gratis or discounted travel (except for children's travel) tickets.

4. Boarding the train is carried out on the basis of the electronic travel document (e-ticket) and the original identity document indicated on it.

5. Information about the electronic travel document (e-ticket) is stored with the wagon attendant. The passenger must sit in the seat specified in the electronic travel document's (e-ticket’s) registration information.

6. If there is a discrepancy between the identity document presented by the passenger during inspection and the information in the electronic travel document (ticket) held by the wagon attendant, the ticket is considered invalid and the passenger is not allowed to board.

7. In intercity trains, if there is only one letter error in the passenger’s surname, first name, or patronymic, or one digit error in the ID document number, the passenger is allowed to board the train.

8. The carrier is obliged to publish the specific features of providing electronic services and using electronic travel documents (e-tickets) in the information systems of the internet network.

9. The sale of electronic travel documents (e-tickets) stops 1 hour before the departure of the train from the starting station.

10. Electronic tickets are sold at full and child fares. For a child under 5 years old (if no separate seat is taken), a free child's electronic travel document (e-ticket) is issued along with a full fare electronic travel document (e-ticket) ordered online.

11. The following are not provided when purchasing electronic travel documents (e-tickets):

  • Reservation of seats without payment;
  • Issuance of discounted travel documents;
  • Group travel arrangements;
  • Re-issuance of electronic travel documents (e-tickets).

12. E-registration for trains is carried out in the following manner:

  • From the starting station of the train's route;
  • From intermediate stations (if technical and technological capabilities are available).

13. If the passenger refuses the trip less than 1 hour before the train's departure from the starting station and e-registration has been completed, the electronic travel document (e-ticket) cannot be returned in the personal account, and the passenger must go to the ticket office at the boarding station to return the ticket according to the payment refund guidelines.

14. Control of electronic travel documents (e-tickets) with e-registration is carried out by wagon attendants during boarding.

15. During control of electronic travel documents with e-registration, the following must also be checked:

  • The accuracy of the issuance and documentation of e-registration by the carrier;
  • The number of passengers traveling corresponds to the number of electronic travel documents (e-tickets) presented for electronic registration;
  • If necessary, the correspondence of the passenger's identity document with the registration information in the wagon.

16. Refunds for unused electronic travel documents (e-tickets) are made in accordance with the legislation and the carrier's refund policy.

17. If a stopover is required, the passenger must inform the wagon attendant if they refuse further travel. The wagon attendant draws up a general-form act regarding the interruption or stopover of the trip and gives a copy to the passenger to present at the ticket office for the refund of the electronic ticket.

18. To process a refund for an electronic travel document (ticket), the passenger must present the electronically registered travel document or general-form act signed by the wagon attendant to the ticket office within 1 hour after the train arrives at the station.

19. If the transportation contract is changed or terminated due to the carrier's fault or due to compelling reasons of the passenger (death, illness, accident), the passenger has the right to receive the relevant transportation fees under the electronic travel documents (e-tickets).
